Job Description
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Course Coordinator – Civil Construction to lead academic quality and program delivery across our Civil Construction Design qualifications in Sydney.
You will champion training excellence, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional student experience. This role is ideal for a civil engineering or construction professional with strong VET experience who is passionate about shaping the future workforce and ensuring industry-relevant, compliant program delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
Academic Leadership & Quality
Ensure teaching and assessments align with accredited training packages
Maintain academic quality, integrity, and continuous improvement
Lead course validation and moderation processes
Curriculum & Assessment
Review and improve course content and resources
Map assessments to unit outcomes and ASQA standards
Ensure compliance with VET and regulatory frameworks
Trainer Support & Development
Mentor and guide trainers on delivery & assessment
Lead academic meetings and PD initiatives
Monitor trainer performance and provide coaching where needed
Student Experience & Success
Oversee timetabling and study pathways
Monitor student progress and initiate intervention strategies
Support student enquiries and manage academic concerns
Regulatory & Industry Engagement
Prepare for internal audits and ASQA compliance reviews
Maintain accurate student and program documentation
Liaise with industry partners to ensure course relevance
Incorporate industry insights into ongoing program enhancements
Qualifications
About You
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent)
Demonstrated industry experience with current knowledge
Skills & Experience
Strong knowledge of ASQA and VET regulatory requirements
Experience in assessment design and curriculum development
Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
Ability to support trainers and inspire student success
