The Sports Nutrition Assistant- Football will support all aspects of food service and performance nutrition operations for the Football program, including day-to-day logistics, fueling operations, and student-athlete support. They will assist with the implementation of nutrition programs that promote performance, recovery, and overall well-being. The position is ideal for a Registered Dietitian or aspiring Registered Dietitian seeking to build practical sports nutrition experience in preparation for a full-time role.
Key Responsibilities
● Oversee daily operations related to the football fueling station, lifts, and practices.
● Assist in management of student workers.
● Manage ordering and inventory from vendors and track product use and waste.
● Assist in game day packing and preparation.
● Enter new meals into Notemeal and assist with data entry.
● Develop and create engaging nutrition education materials, including visuals, handouts, and digital content
● DXA testing
Collaboration
Work closely with the Football Sports Nutrition staff, Sports Performance Team, and Shields Dining to ensure efficient and aligned nutrition service delivery. Support collaboration across departments to maintain consistency in performance nutrition initiatives.
Secondary Responsibilities
When a Registered Dietitian, meet with 5–10 football players weekly for individual counseling and nutrition education. Assist with special projects, recruiting events, and other duties as assigned to enhance the overall success of the Football Sports Nutrition program.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or completion of DPD credits
● Registered Dietitian (RD) or RD-eligible (Must be able to sit for and pass the RD exam within 90 days of hire.)
● Experience working within sports nutrition (collegiate or professional)
● Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Powerpoint and Google Sheets and Drive
● Dedicated to professionalism and leading by example
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
● Ability to kneel, crouch, lift, carry and move inventory up to 50 lbs.
● Ability to work in person, non-standard work hours or work week, which may include early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
● Ability to start July 2026 and work through the 2026 Football Season
● Master's degree preferred
Additional Information
Rate of pay: Up to $20.00/hour (up to 900 hrs)
