Here, you will find a deep sense of belonging, a culture that prioritizes well-being, and the opportunity to grow your career while being a force for good in the world. Whether contributing to world-class research, shaping the student experience, or supporting the University’s mission in other ways, you will be part of a dedicated team working to make a meaningful impact on campus and beyond. At Notre Dame, your work matters, and so do you!
Job Description
The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is more than a service provider; we are strategic advisors who empower the University community to fulfill its mission of being a force for good in the world. Within the Campus Safety IT Applications team—a specialized group within Enterprise Applications—the IT Solutions Consultant serves as a vital engine for campus partners, translating the complex needs into secure, efficient, and reliable digital experiences.
The IT Solutions Consultant acts as a liaison between departments like the Notre Dame Police Department (NDPD), Transportation Services, and other business units supporting the wide array of OIT services, ensuring the community has the digital infrastructure and mission-critical tools necessary to succeed. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, curious exploration, and a commitment to stewardship, ensuring that our safety systems are transparent, sustainable, and aligned with University values.
In this role, you will be part of a culture that prioritizes accountability, teamwork, and innovation. Your work will directly impact the University’s operational excellence and the well-being of our campus by:
Acting as a Strategic Advisor for the University Operations and Campus Safety teams: You will lead the discovery phase for technology needs within the safety domain, validating business cases and providing expert guidance on which IT services deliver the highest value to our campus partners.
Executing Full-Lifecycle Solutions: You will partner with stakeholders and OIT technical teams to design, test, and deploy solutions. Your involvement continues beyond the go-live, as you oversee upgrades and ongoing support to ensure the long-term stability of critical safety applications.
Driving Process Excellence: You will lead requirements elicitation and business process mapping, transforming abstract safety and operational challenges into clear, actionable technical roadmaps.
Fostering a Culture of Growth: You will provide mentorship and coaching to IT Solutions Associates, helping to grow the next generation of IT professionals who support the University's most essential functions.
Ensuring Mission-Critical Security and Compliance: Because this role supports specialized and sensitive environments, you will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining CJIS certification and ensuring all services adhere to the high security and privacy standards required for campus safety operations.
