UHN has embarked on an exciting initiative towards building a new Workplace Violence Training and Education Program, which will help mitigate Workplace Violence across our hospital network. The role of Security Operations Training and Education Supervisor is a newly created position at UHN and represents an exciting new opportunity. The successful candidate will collaborate with members of UHN’s Safety Services Team and UHN Leadership on a comprehensive workplace violence prevention training and education program.
Duties
- Deliver, facilitate, refine, develop, and research workplace violence prevention training and education (i.e. TIDES) in various formats including classroom and virtual delivery, physical technique demonstrations, simulations, clinical departmental unit settings, and eLearning.
- Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders and Leadership across UHN
- Consult to identify and address program improvements related to workplace violence prevention and security operations.
- Support and participate in security related workplace incidents, including debriefs, to identify and support workplace violence program, training and education improvement opportunities.
- Work along side Security Operations management to review metrics and ensure operational standards are maintained.
- Analyze and assess workplace violence training and education metrics, quality indicators and present to UHN Leadership and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- At minimum, a university or college graduate in a relevant or equivalent field of security, law enforcement or criminal justice.
- At minimum, 2 years of security supervisory experience or similar roles.
- A minimum 2 years of adult education or equivalent experience.
- A valid Ontario Security License recognized under the PSISA
- Preferred completion of a recognized security industry certification such as the CHSS, CHPA or CPP.
- Completion or various certifications in relation to the education/training of adult learners & documents experience in coaching & mentorship
- Experience in the education or previous certification through various healthcare centric de-escalation programs.
- Demonstrated experience consulting and building trusted relationships with stakeholders, identifying needs, and designing, developing and delivering solutions in a wide range of business environments.
- Demonstrated assessment and consultation skills related to environmental factors, organizational policies and protocols and procedures to promote safety of staff and clients/patients.
- Preferred working experience supporting a unionized work force.
- Prior experience in data management utilizing Power Bi or other similar platforms.
- Intermediate to expert in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills required.
- Strong client service orientation, time management and organization skills, and communication skills.
- Ability to produce high quality and accurate work required.
- Ability to work well under pressure required.
- Ability to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations required.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player required.
- Ability to perform duties in a self-directed manner required.
