Salary Range: $103,136-$153,136 annually
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Status: Permanent, Full-Time

Position Summary

As a key member of the financial services function, the Financial Business Manager is responsible for the effective financial planning, performance measurement, and analysis of activities, revenues, and costs, as well as the management of financial systems for Chronic Kidney Disease and Ajmera Transplant Centre at the Toronto General site. The role works closely with senior management, unit managers, and directors reviewing, strategizing and making recommendations on Program financials. The Finance Business Manager will be responsible in preparing and analysing monthly/quarterly packages to facilitate decision making and financial/activity reporting, develop, implement and managed long and short term strategies for the expansion of the Programs that are in alignment with hospital goals. This role is also expected to participate in and supervise others in projects/special projects relating to both the portfolio and UHN.

Duties

  • Financial Management – Plays leadership role in the development of the financial strategy and management of financial/activity reporting for the portfolio
  • Administrative Management - Performs administrative responsibilities to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the portfolio
  • Productivity and Analysis - Leads productivity analysis on portfolio activities
  • Project/Special Project Management - Maintains responsibility for the effective management and execution of projects and special projects

Qualifications

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) or business degree with relevant experience
  • Master’s degree in Business or Health Administration or recognized equivalent
  • Five years related experience required
  • Experience working in a hospital is an asset
  • Strong business acumen with solid experience in business management, financial planning, performance measurement and budgeting functions
  • High emotional intelligence with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, with strong motivational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding organizational and time managements skills
  • Ability to take initiative and embrace challenges
  • Ability to work accurately under stressful condition and to meet tight deadlines
  • Experience in business case analysis, able to translate operation situation into financial forms
  • Adheres to confidentiality policy for sensitive financial and clinical data and information
  • Working knowledge of Health System Funding Reform is an asset
