Reports to: Staffing Manager
Hours: 37.5 hr/week
Shifts: - Predominantly Days, Occasional Evening, Nights & Weekends as needed
Status: Permanent Full-time

The Clinical Coordinator, Staffing Resource Team (Staffing Office) plays a pivotal role supporting clinical staff assigned through the Staffing Office across UHN. Reporting to the Manager, the Coordinator provides clinical expertise, guidance, and operational support to nurses, PSWs, and preceptors, ensuring safe and effective transitions to independent practice across multiple sites and units.

The role also collaborates closely with staffing assistants, staffing analysts, and staffing representatives, who manage the administrative and assignment functions across Toronto Rehab and West Park. The Clinical Coordinator ensures strong alignment between clinical requirements, staffing workflows, and patient care needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide, coaching, and support to nurses, PSWs, and preceptors assigned throughout UHN.
  • Promote excellence in professional practice and contribute to a cohesive, collaborative learning environment.
  • Lead and support onboarding, orientation, and competency development for clinical staff.
  • Partner with administrative staffing teams to clarify workflows, support clinical considerations, and optimize scheduling and workforce deployment.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, program planning, and initiatives that enhance staff engagement and consistency of practice.
  • Serve as a key liaison for leaders, educators, and interprofessional teams across UHN.
  • Champion a culture of kindness, psychological safety, and patient‑ and family‑centred care.

Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required
  • Current certificate of competency (licensure) from the College of Nurses of Ontario required
  • Minimum 2-3 years of recent and relevant experience as Registered Nurse in clinical work working with patients
  • Previous project management experience and participation in process improvement and quality improvement events preferred
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with all members of the inter-professional team
  • Capability to coach, mentor and provide feedback while fostering a positive work culture
  • Ability to support the clinical team in a professional manner
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to problem solve clinical issues with the support of Operational Lead of Program
  • Excellent critical thinking, decision making and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong patient and customer focused philosophy in all interactions
  • Solid computer skills; experience with relevant healthcare applications
  • Communicates in an effective, professional manner
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job
  • Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for staff and clients within a challenging and exciting health care environment
  • Innovative Thinker, comfortable with thinking outside the box and able to creatively find solutions for issues/problems
