Salary Range: $52.89 to $66.12 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Days
Status: Temporary Full-Time ( 18 months contract with a possibility of extension )

Position Summary 

As the leader of the multidisciplinary Allied Health Services and Outpatient Geriatric Clinic, the principal responsibilities include overseeing the following Allied Health areas:

  • Outpatient Geriatric Rehab (Geriatric Rehab, Independence at Home, and Geriatric Medicine)
  • Outpatient MSK Rehab (including GLA:D)
  • Outpatient Multisystem Rehab (including Cancer, COVID, and Chronic Pain)
  • Inpatient Specialized Dementia Unit
  • Inpatient Geriatric and MSK Rehab Unit
  • Inpatient Multisystem Rehab Unit (includes Cancer, Transplant, MSK, and Complex Medical Patients)

Duties

  • Collaborating with leadership to develop and implement effective care delivery models and mechanisms to ensure the seamless provision of multiple specific Allied Health services
  • Managing multidisciplinary human resources to ensure the provision of patient care services to established standards of excellence across multiple programs
  • Supporting the implementation of best practices, quality documentation and accountability models
  • Developing, implementing and managing short/long-term plans for the multidisciplinary team, in collaboration with the leadership team, that are aligned with organizational goals and strategies
  • Facilitating the delivery of safe high quality, patient-centered care to patients
  • Performing financial management responsibilities
  • Coordinating and being accountable for the day-to-day utilization of resources to achieve the service's goals
  • Performing corporate management responsibilities which support and advance departmental goals

Qualifications

 

  • At minimum, completion of a Bachelor's Degree in a regulated health profession or recognized equivalent required
  • Completion of a recognized Masters Degree in Health Administration, Business or recognized equivalent required
  • Greater than five (5) years of relevant experience in a clinical practice capacity
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity with rehabilitation staff required, including labour and employee relations experience
  • Membership/certification from an RHPA College in Ontario
  • Demonstrated effective change management and motivational skills
  • Demonstrated empathy and compassion
  • Has an understanding and commitment to interdisciplinary professional practice models
  • Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity; appreciates that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, along with effective negotiation skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and solution-focused skills
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to form/defend independent judgment and to use good judgment in assessing challenging situations
  • Ability to work effectively, demonstrate composure under pressure/stressful conditions and to meet multiple and competing deadlines
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office and Outlook applications
  • Maintains and protects patient confidentiality in accordance with UHN Confidentiality policy requirements
  • Knowledge of applicable legislative, (i.e. Human Rights, Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, etc.) UHN and/or departmental policies, procedures & protocols
  • Knowledge of integrated health systems and resources
  • Knowledge of professional and legislative provisions (e.g. Employment Standards Act, Substitutes Decisions Act, Social Contract Act, Human Rights legislation, etc.) which impact upon work performed
