Position Summary
The Women’s Neurology program at the University Health Network, University of Toronto is seeking a research analyst with a special focus on medication education and clinical research in Women’s Brain Health to join their team. The Women’s Neurology program @ U of T is a city wide collaborative effort consisting of experts in cognition, epilepsy, headache, multiple sclerosis, and stroke as well as women’s health specialists in primary care, gynecology, fertility, obstetrics and ageing. This job will be best suited for candidates with superb organization and communications skills, and a special interest in medical education, advocacy, women’s health, wellness and clinical research.
- Coordination and collaboration: Multiple research and education activities to be coordinated and ensure ongoing progress. Involvement in medical education (residents, fellows) will be part of ongoing responsibilities.
- Opportunities: To present at local, regional, national and international meetings relevant to Women’s Neurology education and scholarly work i.e. Canadian Neurological Science, American Academy of Neurology. Mentorship by expert clinical teachers and researchers across the Division of Neurology will be offered.
Duties
Research Analyst I: Women’s Brain Health research and medical education with applied general research principles, concepts and techniques relating to data collection and management to perform well-defined tasks and analyses.
- Assists in the modification and maintenance of electronic and paper data management systems.
- Coordinates necessary data flow both internally, as well as externally with collaborators from other sites.
- Close collaboration with clinical and research teams to support development and delivery of quality improvement and/or clinical research projects, thus:
- May obtain medical data on research subjects from registries or other hospitals.
- May participate in qualitative analyses of data collected from patients.
- May assist in interpretation of results and preparation of material for presentation, publication and/or grants.
- May maintain regulatory documents
- May participate in department review of data collection strategies.
- May liaise with sponsors for monitoring/audits.
- May perform computer statistical analyses.
- May generate response curves, status reports and other statistical reports, as required.
- May interpret results and prepare material for presentation, publication and/or grants.
Qualifications
- At minimum, Bachelors of Science degree is required.
- 1 year related experience is required.
- Experience using statistical analysis and data management software applications, preferred.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Experience in web design, social media, and multimedia learning an asset.
- Personal interest in innovation, women’s health advocacy and multidisciplinary work an asset.
- Ability to exercise moderate judgement and decision making, using established policies and procedures, to resolve problems.
- Seeks direction on choice of work methods and resolution of more complex problems (e.g., questionnaire administration).
- Seeks approval for work results and conformity to assignment objectives.
