The Marketing Manager, Lottery is responsible for leading the strategy and overseeing the execution of all owned digital and direct marketing channels for the Princess Margaret Lottery. This includes CRM, email, web updates, social content needs, digital assets, and other direct-response communications designed to engage purchasers, increase conversion, and strengthen loyalty.
Working in partnership the Senior Marketing Manager, Lottery Marketing (who oversees mass channels), this role ensures that owned-channel strategies ladder up to the overarching Lottery brand strategy, campaign plans, and public-facing marketing communications as well as integrating with CTF.
This position reports to the Senior Director, Marketing Events and plays a critical leadership role in advancing one of the Foundation’s largest revenue portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
Owned Channels Strategy & Execution
Lead the planning and execution of owned-channel campaigns across CRM, email, website, social content needs, SMS (if applicable), and digital assets.
Develop channel-specific messaging, segmentation strategies, and execution calendars aligned with the overall Lottery brand and marketing strategy.
Build and optimize journey touchpoints to increase conversion, retention, and loyalty among Lottery purchasers.
Ensure all owned-channel content reflects Lottery brand positioning and meets compliance requirements.
Campaign Delivery & Digital Operations
Oversee end-to-end development of digital assets, email templates, landing pages, and updates required.
Manage day-to-day coordination with CRM, BI, and creative agency to deliver timely and effective campaign execution.
Monitor campaign performance, identify optimization opportunities, and share insights with the Senior Marketing Manager and cross-functional teams.
Cross-Functional Partnership
Work closely with the Senior Marketing Manager to ensure owned-channel plans align to broader campaign strategies, creative direction, and public-facing brand expression.
Collaborate with Lottery Operations, BI/analytics, call centre partners, finance, and web/CRM teams to support end-to-end execution of Lottery marketing plans.
Ensure cohesive messaging across paid, public-facing channels (led by Sr. Manager) and direct channels (owned by this role).
Agency Management & Workflow
Lead weekly agency status meetings in partnership with Senior Marketing Manager, ensuring alignment on deliverables, timelines, and asset needs.
Coordinate with agency partners supporting CRM, email production, website updates, or digital assets.
Manage feedback loops, QA processes, and approvals to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery.
Team Leadership & Support
Manage and mentor direct reports supporting Lottery marketing execution of digital and direct channels.
Maintain documentation, trackers, channel calendars, and campaign QA processes.
Qualifications
4–6 years of experience in digital marketing, CRM, email marketing, or owned-channel execution
Proven experience in campaign planning, segmentation, and performance optimization
Strong understanding of CRM systems, Mailchimp or other email service providers, and web content management workflows
Excellent project management, organization, and communication skills
Experience with high-volume consumer marketing, fundraising, or lotteries is an asset
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple overlapping deadlines
