Salary: $55,224 to $69,030 annually (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Status: Permanent Full-Time

Position Summary

As an integral member of the Grants Management team within the Research Financial Services department, the Financial Analyst I performs a range of detailed accounting activities and advisory functions requiring sound professional judgment to ensure day-to-day operations are carried out in accordance with the established accounting principles and institutional policies.

Duties

  • Prepare monthly financial invoices for research accounts within the growing portfolio 
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis to assist with forecasting 
  • Perform cross-functional duties and other duties consistent with the job classification, as required

Qualifications

  • At a minimum, Community college diploma (three years) in Accounting/Finance or equivalent program 
  • Two (2) years of related experience in an accounting environment with exposure to a range of basic accounting practices, procedures and principles 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent client service and satisfaction 
  • Skill in performing detailed numerical computations and accurate data entry 
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with strong organization and time management skills 
  • Strong knowledge of computer application accounting systems & software applications, preferably in a Microsoft Office environment (i.e., Excel, Word, Access) 
  • Experience with Grant accounting preferred
