Job Description
The Program Director – Medical Assisting provides leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of the Medical Assisting program while actively supporting the College’s mission and core values. In this role, the Program Director fosters academic excellence and student success through effective program oversight, faculty leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include managing faculty and resources, supporting curriculum quality, overseeing budgets, and monitoring program and student success metrics to ensure strong educational outcomes.
Pay Range: The annual pay range for this position is $80,000/year (minimum), and $87,000/year (maximum).*
- Participating in budget preparation and fiscal administration, curriculum development and coordination, determination of teaching assignments, supervision and evaluation of faculty, establishment of criteria and procedures, design and operation of program facilities, and selection of extramural facilities and coordination of instruction in those facilities.
- Holding periodic staff meetings to provide for subject matter review, instructional calibration, curriculum evaluation, and coordinating activities of full-time, part-time, and volunteer faculty or instructional staff.
- Maintaining copies of minutes of all advisory committee and staff meetings for not less than five years.
- Ensuring and maintenance of compliance with California Department of Consumer Affairs, ACCSC, BPPE, DOE and Title IV approval, accreditation, regulations and policies.
- Ensure orientation to Office Staff who provide extramural clinical practice.
- Ensure extramural facilities are visited at least once every ten clinical days.
- Ensure written contracts/affiliations with extramural clinical facilities.
- Monitoring of staff and student performance, motivating and advising students and staff as needed.
- Maintenance of student and faculty files.
- Monitor ongoing quality and performance of the program.
- Participate/Facilitate at minimum an annual Program Advisory Committee Meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher with relevant work experience
- Certified Medical Assistant (RMA, CMA)
- Must be able to develop and maintain excellent relationships with a diverse staff and student population
- Must be able to participate on a high performing team.
- Must be able to manage and forecast program performance metrics
- Consistently demonstrate the highest levels of integrity
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
