We are looking for a Student Account Specialist to join our team.

This position will manage student accounts and collections.

Job Description

  • Researches and investigates customer account issues, monitors in and out of school collections, monitors and controls non-payments, delayed payments, and other anomalies.
  • Reviews aging reports and takes corrective actions on seriously delinquent accounts
  • Manage submissions and resolutions for third party collections agencies
  • Manages defaults, loan reductions and reconciliations of institutional loan program to ensure positive portfolio performance
  • Work closely with campus Business Office team and Corporate Sr. Student Account Manager for bad debt management for other campuses
  • Run student account reports, analyze student accounts and records for accuracy and completion
  • Analyze, resolve, and perform student account reconciliations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2+ years (within past 5 years) full time collections experience
  • BA/BS in Business/Accounting/Finance is preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of billing and collection concepts, policies, and processes
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Knowledge, understanding, and experience in of computerized accounting systems, including a working knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments
  • Ability to gather data and compile information
  • Ability to manage team structure and train the team
