Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Growth Area Manager to drive our international growth initiative in the field of Job Site Efficiency for the construction industry. This strategic role will focus on leveraging novel technologies (e.g., robots, drones), digital tools and solutions, and process innovations to transform productivity in terms of time and costs in the construction industry.
As Growth Area Manager, you will lead strategic initiatives, scout disruptive technologies and attractive companies, and build strong partnerships to enable profitable growth and shape the way construction sites will operate in the future.
You will take full ownership from strategy to execution, delivering measurable impact and driving sustainable, profitable growth for the Umdasch Group.
- Strategic Development
- Shape and implement growth strategies in the Area of Job Site Efficiency, aligned with the group’s overall corporate strategy.
- Identify high-growth markets, profitable targets, advanced technologies, and winning business models that enhance efficiency in construction, especially on construction sites.
- Deal Origination & M&A Execution
- Identify and evaluate opportunities, support M&A, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships with startups, scale-ups, and established players, with a focus on accelerating growth and generating business value.
- Manage a portfolio of acquired companies, driving value creation and supporting post-merger integration.
- Stakeholder & Ecosystem Management
- Build connections with VCs, PEs, accelerators, start-up ecosystems, and key players across construction, technology, and academia to access innovation and acquisition opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and partnerships to strengthen visibility and foster long-term collaboration.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Experience: 10–15 years in strategy, venture capital, private equity, M&A, or corporate development.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of construction industry dynamics, digitalization and technology trends.
- Functional Expertise: proven experience in technology, digital solutions and process innovations to improve productivity in construction.

- Expertise: Strong financial acumen, experience in competitive analysis, company valuation, and market research.
- Critical Thinking: Ability to evaluate complex strategic options and investment opportunities.
