Job Description
The Director Business Controlling will undertake all aspects of financial business partnering, including but not limited to: Strategic & tactical business support to senior business leaders (Branch Management, Regional Directors, Country Management), Business Analyses & reviews, forecasting processes and support in achievement of business targets and development of strategy & key business projects for the company. The incumbent will be the leader of the Business Controlling team with direct reports into the US regions supporting senior business leaders. The Director Business Controlling will report to and work with the Chief Financial Officer, Doka USA, while supporting the US regions and Country Management Team. Your peers in this international, exciting and fast-paced environment will include the Director of Finance, Operations Director, Director Strategic Sales, Head of Engineering and the Head of HR, Doka USA. This is a hybrid role based out of our headquarters located in Kenilworth, NJ.
Responsibilities
- Manage the strategic & tactical financial support for the respective business partners, being branch management, regional management and country management.
- Be a leader within the Doka USA finance team, spearheading a team of highly engaged Business Controllers who are co-piloting the business teams and providing high value financial support.
- Work with the CFO & Director of Finance as Finance Leadership team, managing all finance activities within the US region and working together to continue to build a best-in-class finance team.
- Lead and prepare process(es) around Business Reviews, (quarterly) forecasts and budget.
- Lead forecasts & budget development together with the respective business responsible (CEO / COO / Regional Directors)
- Prepare analysis, provide recommendations and significantly contribute to the improvement of the (financial) performance of the company.
- Prepare and respond to ad-hoc requests from Senior Management, Area Management, Country Management & Corporate
- Develop business cases and investment proposals specific for Doka US and (the development of) the US regions.
- Develop, Implement, analyze & follow-up on key business metrics important to increase effectiveness / efficiency of the US market.
- Develop and maintain proper systems around client monitoring (CRM), with example in pricing management, managing credit lines & customer development and project funnel.
- Assist in developing and conducting in-house financial training for the USA.
- Coordinates and supports the development of the finance team and the overall management team.
Other Responsibilities/Peripheral Functions
- Travel as required, approx. 10-20% (domestic & international)
- Other duties/projects as assigned; including participating in company committees/teams.
- Assists in ensuring safe working practices and a safe working environment
- Complies with all corporate policies and business practices
- Extensive daily interaction with colleagues, headquarters finance and controlling team, management, etc.
Qualifications
Qualifications/Technical Proficiency
- Proven working experience as a Finance Leader / Senior Finance Business Partner / Senior (Commercial / Operations) Controller /Country Controller / in a multi country / location environment
- 7+ years accounting and finance experience, commercial production / construction / formwork / rental industry experience can be considered a plus
- Advanced degree in Finance / Controlling / Management / preferred
- Good knowledge of accounting principles /procedures and business (finance) processes. Work experience with SAP (FI/CO) is a definite plus
- Experience with building financial management systems / procedures
- Prior experience managing a (high performance) team
- Proficiency with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required
- Excellent communication skills, including excellent command of English required (speaking, reading, writing)
- Qualitative abilities including strong analytical skills, technical proficiency and effective problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently in a result-driven, fast paced, environment
- Proactive and strong hands-on mentality
- High commitment, resilience and temporal flexibility
- Open-minded to process changes
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in international environments, multinational groups, matrix environments
- Experience in project management and change management
- CPA, and/or Public Accounting / Consulting / banking experience
