Job Description
We are currently seeking a Material Layout Processor to become part of the Ulbrich team. This position will be reporting to the Layout Supervisor at Ulbrich of Illinois, located in Alsip, IL. The Material Layout Processor will review, plan, and schedule raw material processing and equipment utilization in a manner that ensures the completion of customer orders, meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Perform review of customer orders, pre-costing data, special processing specifications, in-process production schedules, material inventory listings, equipment capacity and utilization schedules; perform material selection and production layout and delivery requirements; minimize scrap, excess production costs and machine down time; determine over shipment options in effort to maximize coil use and reduce production of scrap; using prescribed formula, perform material yield calculations, estimate scrap and restocks resulting from each layout; consult with metallurgist on new product process methodologies to ensure complete understanding of the same; enter related data and schedule information daily; coordinate with scheduling and inventory control and perform re-layouts as requested to maximize material utilization and achieve delivery schedules; and review and evaluate production, equipment, process and/or material modifications.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will have: A High school diploma plus a minimum of 3 years related work experience, preferably within manufacturing and/or metal processing environment; the ability to perform moderately complex mathematical calculations including the use of all basic math concepts, calculation of percentages, square footage, fraction and decimal conversion; knowledge of machine operation processes and general machining operations and terminology; effective written and oral communication skills; and excellent computer skills.
