Job Description

Ulbrich’s Specialty Strip Mill in Wallingford, CT has an opening for an Electrical-Electronic/Mechanical Repair Technician (2nd shift). In this position you will plan and perform diversified electronic, electrical and related mechanical layout, installation, trouble shooting and repair duties.

  • Observe job conditions and perform electronic and electrical trouble shooting and repair.
  • Select tools and test equipment, order parts, make necessary repairs or adjustments to machine controls, drive motors, relays, solenoids, switches, power supplies, rectifying units and related electronic, electrical and mechanical parts in accordance with established codes.
  • Determine mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and other failures related or unrelated to direct electrical failure and effect routine repair to units subject to assistance for the more complex situations not involving electronics.
  • Study requirements for alterations and new installations and as required use sheet metal fabrication equipment to make up control panels, boxes, brackets or other component parts.
  • Repair or replace electrical and electronic circuitry annealing ovens, rolling mills, slitters and other production machinery.
  • Repair air conditioning and heating system, electrical components, electric motors and small power tools.
  • Follow all defined safety practices and procedures. 

Qualifications

 

  • At least 2 years of related experience performing diversified; electronic and electrical installation, troubleshooting and repair;
  • Strong mechanical aptitude;
  • Ability to read, write, problem solve and perform advanced math calculations;
  • Ability to use diversified electrical test and troubleshooting equipment and devises;
  • Ability to work from complicated electronic and electrical specifications and schematic diagrams; and
  • Ability to use diversified electrical test and troubleshooting equipment and devises.
