Job Description

As a Scriptwriter on the Assassin’s Creed Franchise at Ubisoft Quebec City, you will help shape the narrative heart of the game, focusing on story, tone, characters, and dialogue. You will work closely with quest and mission designers, narrative teams, and production to ensure a cohesive storytelling experience across the game. This role reports to a Lead Writer and is rooted in strong collaboration within a shared writing environment.

What you’ll do

  • Define and maintain the narrative tone of the game in alignment with the Creative Director’s vision
  • Write and revise scripts, dialogue, and in-game narrative content including cinematics, missions, scripted events, and systemic gameplay
  • Collaborate closely with quest and mission designers to align story structure with gameplay flow
  • Develop compelling characters, voices, and relationships that support the Assassin’s Creed universe
  • Contribute to world building, including locations, cultures, and atmosphere
  • Work within a writer’s room environment, exchanging feedback and building on shared ideas
  • Ensure narrative consistency and quality across all story-related assets and reference documentation
  • Support narrative integration with production teams and external partners when needed

  • Experience collaborating with other writers in a team-based environment
  • Solid understanding of video game storytelling and narrative structures
  • Ability to adapt writing to multiple tones and styles
  • Comfort giving and receiving constructive feedback
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Curiosity, creativity, and a strong sense of observation
  • Nice to have experience with open-world games, theatre or dramatic writing, or large-scale fictional world building
