As an organization accredited by the IATF (International Automotive Task Force) and Cofrac, we support automotive manufacturers and their suppliers in implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving their quality management systems in accordance with the ISO and IATF 16949 standards.
To support our continued expansion, we are seeking an experienced IATF Scheme and ISO Accreditation Director to lead and develop our certification technical center team.
Job Description
The IATF Scheme and ISO Accreditation Director is responsible for ensuring compliance, performance, and maintenance of all applicable recognitions and accreditations within UTAC certification activities.
The role oversees the full IATF 16949 scheme and ISO accreditations (notably ISO/IEC 17021-1 and ISO 50003), ensuring their effective deployment, control, and continuous improvement.
The position acts as the primary interface with external stakeholders (IATF Oversight Offices, accreditation bodies such as Cofrac) and ensures the robustness of the certification management system.
The role also includes full responsibility for the budget and cost control of the central certification entity, ensuring financial performance and resource optimization.
Key Responsibilities
1. IATF Scheme Management
- Define, maintain, and deploy IATF 16949 requirements
- Ensure compliance with IATF Rules
- Act as main interface with IATF Oversight Offices
- Prepare and lead IATF reviews (BiM, Office Assessment, etc.)
- Drive action plans resulting from IATF audits
2. ISO Accreditation Management
- Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17021-1 and ISO 50003
- Manage relationships with accreditation bodies (Cofrac and equivalents)
- Prepare and coordinate accreditation audits
- Oversee nonconformity management
- Maintain consistency of the management system documentation
3. Certification Management System Governance
- Identify regulatory and standard changes and ensure deployment
- Ensure effectiveness of certification processes
- Monitor KPIs and performance trends
- Contribute to management reviews
4. Data and Systems Control
- Ensure quality and completeness of data (IATF Database, internal systems)
- Oversee operational data management
- Ensure reliability of reporting
5. Nonconformity and Risk Management
- Lead nonconformity management processes
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies (IATF Problem Solving Manual)
- Manage OEM complaints and appeals
- Identify and escalate critical risks
6. Team Coordination and Support
- Support and coordinate regional offices
- Provide technical guidance
- Deliver training and awareness sessions
- Contribute to competence management
7. Budget and Cost Management
- Define and manage the budget of the central certification entity
- Monitor operational costs (audits, accreditation, resources)
- Identify cost optimization opportunities
- Contribute to overall profitability
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in natural science, engineering, process engineering, computer science or a related field
- Knowledge of ISO 17021 and 16949
- Minimum 3 years experience as head of cert body with an IAF/IATF affiliated accreditation- Experience with Cofrac is a plus
- Minimum as ISO 9001 lead auditor with 3 years of auditing experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional and cultural teams
- Project management skills to plan and execute process improvement projects
- Experience in leading organizational change management
- Experience in cert body requirements unification is a plus
