The UK Government has established UK Industrial Fusion Solutions (UKIFS) Ltd., a subsidiary of UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), to lead the charge in delivering fusion energy through design and delivery of the Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production (STEP) protype fusion plant. UKIFS is establishing itself, setting up the company, attracting talent, engaging with industry, developing a supply chain, and planning and constructing of the STEP prototype.
Fusion energy, crucial for combating climate change and ensuring energy independence, is expected to be commercially viable by mid-century. The UK, led by UKIFS, aims for a prototype fusion plant, targeting first operations around 2040. UK Industrial Fusion Solutions Ltd. will lead delivery, collaborating with industrial partners and building a fusion supply chain with an estimated global sector value of £7tn per year. The salary for this role is £31,100 and onsite working is expected for 5 days per week

This role is based at West Burton, Nottinghamshire.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.
The Role

Join our team and contribute to the future of fusion energy as Site Operations Assistant in the field of fusion energy. In this role you will play a pivotal role in working for the Site Operations Manager to facilitate all site works. Collaborate with the Site Operations Manager to coordinate all site works efficiently and promote and develop a robust Health and Safety culture.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide daily oversight of on-site contractors, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Implement setting to work procedures to include reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and ensure safe systems of work are applied.
- Implement a Permit to work process.
- Engage with Site Stakeholders to manage Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPs) effectively.
- Conduct inductions and facilitate toolbox talks for site personnel.
- Compile and prepare for audit of health and safety documentation.
- Monitor and track contractor progress, ensuring adherence to schedules and timely delivery.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience in coordinating/ supervising day-to-day operations.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of building compliance and maintenance management.
- Full UK driving license.
- Microsoft Office: Proficient skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
