Staff Product Manager - Health - ML & Data Platform

The Health Products & Service organization’s mission is to provide the global community a safe and trusted social conversation platform. The Health Platform team builds services to make it easier and faster to reduce harm and abuse on the platform.
In this business critical role, you will drive the strategy enabling HPS to scale our ML models and platform capabilities so we can deliver safe experiences to all users across all of Twitter’s various product surfaces. This requires the ability to be full stack in ML - from data, to model training and deployment infrastructure, to signals and embeddings, and to the measurement and metric suite needed to ship models. You will work closely with teams that enforce policies through automated detection using ML models, as well as operations teams that provide feedback to these models. You will also work across the company helping other teams use our signals to improve recommendations and other product surfaces to improve user experience.
Job Description
This is a hands-on role that will focus on exploring customer, technology, and regulatory needs in this space and building solutions quickly with a wide range of cross-functional partners.
This role specifically will (in no particular order)
- Build and own the strategy and execution for your area in collaboration with peers in Engineering, Design, Research, Data Science, Legal, Policy, and Operations
- Pursue deep customer understanding through quantitative & qualitative techniques
- Build a cohesive, high-functioning team that thrives in a culture of trust, respect, empathy, and inclusion. Mentor and manage 1-2 PMs.
- Use your understanding all customer needs, broader company goals, and how they fit together to drive decision making in ambiguous situations
Qualifications
Who You Are
You are a platform-focused strategic product thinker with a track record of making an impact in a product based on user generated content or interactions. You bring strong technical fluency and product intuition, understanding of hypothesis-driven product development processes, and are effective at operating in fast paced environments that have to react to a changing global environment. Clear and concise communication is essential.
Passion for improving online health & safety and understanding of this landscape is helpful, but direct experience with this is not required. We encourage new perspectives provided you have a strong interest in this space and capability to learn quickly.
Requirements
- 5+ plus years in Product Management type roles, with experience in both user facing and internal platforms and products
- Prior experience building ML infra or ML driven products, or data platforms
- Excellent at building strong relationships with a diverse set of customers and partners from across the business, regardless of their role or specialism
- Inclination towards data driven decision making without being paralysed by incomplete information
- Structured approach to identifying, understanding, and solving customer problems
- Collaborative approach to aligning team members without defaulting to consensus driven decisions
- A strong growth mindset and empathetic servant leadership approach to product management
- Curiosity and creativity
- You’re able to simplify and present technical concepts to non-technical collaborators to explain impact and drive consensus
Desired
- Experience providing product management support to remote teams
- A working understanding of machine learning and/or automation systems and their capabilities/limitations
- Experience with incentive systems, penalty systems, or a background in behavioral psychology
