Job Description
The Policy Operations team is charged with ensuring a quality and safe user experience with ads, protecting the company from legal and reputational risk, and removing roadblocks for genuine advertisers to transact freely on the platform. We do this by implementing scalable and effective policy enforcement solutions.
As a Policy Operations Ad Quality/Civic Integrity Program Manager, you will be responsible for implementing data-driven policy enforcement solutions on a global scale as it relates to Twitter’s Political Content and Cause-based Advertising policies. Although Twitter globally prohibits the promotion of political content - the policy as it relates to cause-based advertising, news publisher exemptions, and any possible future related policies are complex - and you’ll need to ensure we’re equipped to execute. You will work hand-in-hand with Trust & Safety and Public Policy to identify and minimize areas of risk, as well as partner with Sales to ensure that our customers understand these policies. You must be an expert problem solver adept at crisis management, a collaborative and passionate teammate, and someone who can influence a cross-functional team with competing priorities. Perhaps most importantly, you must be able to thrive in an ever-changing environment where no two days are the same!
What you’ll do:
- Help lead Policy Operations’ political policy enforcement strategy globally while supporting regional counterparts - including operations, stakeholder management, as well as consulting on policy, product, and process development
Identify and remove roadblocks for customer-facing teams, ensuring that compliant advertisers are able to achieve revenue goals undisrupted
Partner closely with Public Policy on upcoming elections while proactively identifying enforcement needs
Drive complex projects and strategies aimed at scaling the enforcement of ads policies
Operationalize policy changes by designing agent workflows and identifying logic in our systems and tools that need adjusting
Investigate risk areas for our customers and company and provide informed recommendations and action plans for how best to tackle
Triage non-standard enforcement gaps, going deep into the weeds to troubleshoot root cause and impact and then stepping back to provide succinct retros, summaries, and recommendations to senior leadership
Influence Product and Engineering on systems, tools, and logic to improve detection, agent effectiveness, or user/advertiser experience
Analyze data and translate it into actionable insights and business opportunities
Who you are:
Passionate about crafting and maintaining strategies and working cross-functionally to understand the needs of business
“Finger on the pulse” on political/election news and current events
Focused, self-motivated, and proactive in building relationships and pursuing opportunities
Highly analytical and capable of using data to make decisions
Not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get the job done! Role will be both strategic and tactical
Ability to work productively in a fast moving, cross-functional, and at times ambiguous environment
Extremely detail-oriented with an ability and affinity for process creation
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in operations, policy, politics, risk or compliance
Experience/Interest in the ads policy space
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional leadership skills and ability to influence at senior levels
