Job Description
The Cortex (ML and Data) Strategy & Operations (S&O) team partners with leaders in Engineering, Product, Design & Research to focus on the critical areas that enable organizational efficacy by leading strategy planning, processes for effective execution, inter/intra organizational alignment and enduring change.
Cortex is Twitter’s Central Machine Learning (ML), Data Platform, and Data Science team. They share insights from their research and signals from their ML models with Twitter’s product teams. Data Platform is a centralized team that helps Twitter harness complete, consistent, and trustworthy data to achieve our revenue and usage goals, while benefiting from economies of scale delivered by a shared platform.
In this role, reporting to the S&O Director for Twitter Cortex, you will be responsible for supporting product and engineering leadership in defining the Data Platform strategy, driving portfolio planning and orchestrating roadmap and product reviews. The role requires cross team collaboration to standardize common processes and improve development velocity and productivity. The role will frequently involve working directly with the Product and Engineering leads for Data Platform and the broader leadership team.
- Support Data Platform leadership by keeping the rhythm of execution humming and removing any obstacles that may arise along the way
- Orchestrate the overall planning process for Data Platform Engineering and Product teams, including product roadmaps, goal setting, and portfolio planning
- Build a successful and healthy team: review, design, and implement improvements to org structure, find knowledge and skills gaps and help address them, design optimal workflows, and align internal processes
- Represents the Data Platform team as key liaison in coordinating with other internal planning functions (e.g. Finance, HR, etc.)
- Develops content and drives communication across other pillars and rest of the company, communicating regular product updates, key results, and consolidating strategic plans for review with the Twitter executive team and the Board
- Lead short-term deep dives and cross-functional project teams to structure and execute analyses needed to develop recommendations
Qualifications
- 6+ years of work experience in a strategy/operations/corporate development role, preferably in engineering or product management at a tech company or strategy consulting
- Demonstrated problem solving experience and in providing business insights and recommendations from data sets, both individually or in a group setting
- Proven ability to track, prioritize, and drive multiple concurrent projects to success
- Lead and influence across multiple levels and multiple functions of an organization, as well as, being a trusted advisor to leadership
- Experience driving influence and clarity in highly matrixed organizations

Notice (Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act)
The expected salary range for this role to be performed in Colorado is USD$138,000.00 - USD$193,000.00. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for participation in Twitter’s Performance Bonus Plan and Equity Incentive Plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
