Who We Are

We are a multi-disciplinary team consisting of entrepreneurial scientists and engineers. This team is responsible for developing core ML models and model development pipelines to determine the right ad for the right user at the right time. User response prediction, ads relevance, advertiser intentions, bidding, and pricing come together in the marketplace to tackle multi-objective optimization, in order to make the best decision for the users, customers, and Twitter. We lead state-of-the-art research on brand and performance advertising through automated bidding, pricing, and mechanism design.

Who You Are

We are looking for a seasoned leader who has a deep passion for building machine-learning solutions, the ability to communicate data insights and scientific vision, and implement strategic projects. You will work with business partners to craft, implement and launch ML solutions based on business objectives, timelines, and resource constraints. This is an outstanding opportunity to stand at the intersection of social media, advertising, and innovative ML techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the vision and mission of where the team will be one year from now.
  • Be an engineering and data science talent magnet improve the team's success in our established mission
  • Mentor the professional development of each direct report through personal and performance management.
  • Give engineers and scientists the tools, confidence, and motivation to make decisions independently that lead to the recognition of your engineers and the team.
  • Facilitate the use of data and promote data-driven practices across that ads organization.
  • Help build technical strategy and roadmap – crafting success metrics in close collaboration with other Engineering and Product Managers.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant engineering and science experience
  • 3+ years of people management experience, leading machine learning engineers and data scientists
  • Previous experience as a data science or machine learning individual contributor or manager of data scientists.
  • Previous experience as a software engineer individual contributor or manager of software engineers.
  • Experience in partnering with product and program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Past experience in ad tech
  • Ph.D. in computer science, mathematics, machine learning, or related quantitative field.
  • Experience with applied science, big data, or large scale distributed systems for online services
  • Knowledge of professional best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Experience in Online Advertising technologies
  • GCP technologies experience
