Who You Are

You are a passionate and experienced Design Engineer that bridges the gap between design and engineering. You naturally cross borders and break down silos between disciplines, empowering designers and engineers to work quickly with high standards for quality and consistency. You have a strong sense of mobile and web design and what it takes to implement your designs from a global perspective and consider this in your work. 

What You’ll Do

As part of this team you’ll be responsible for creating the foundational patterns, UI components, tools, and documentation that empowers Twitter’s internal design system. You will have a central role in the design, development, and delivery of Twitter’s business and consumer product offerings. You will collaborate with designers, creatives, and engineers across all of our product surfaces. You will work especially closely with client engineering teams to ensure our mobile and web experiences are implemented to the highest quality and help us achieve our strategic design vision.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in software development.

  • Experience contributing to mature design systems including component design, documentation, and education.

  • Dashboard design and business UX (SaaS or Enterprise).

  • Expert knowledge of the web development ecosystem, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Node.

  • Proactive attitude, effective independently and as part of a team.

  • A desire to learn and teach.

  • Strong cross-functional communication, collaboration, and creative problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of technical constraints and guidelines as they apply to designing for digital platforms, including web, iOS, and Android.

  • Knowledge of inclusive design principles and best practices supporting accessibility compliance.

  • Hands-on experience developing prototypes using developer tools and advanced knowledge of design prototyping tools like Figma and Origami.

  • Motion physics for complex animations is a plus.
