Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Planner to support a portfolio of large-scale hospitality and resort development projects across the Caribbean. This position will work directly with the client, providing strategic leadership for all planning, scheduling, and project controls activities throughout the full project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned planning professional with extensive experience in large-scale hotel, resort, mixed-use, or hospitality developments. The successful individual will play a critical role in ensuring project schedules are robust, realistic, and aligned with business objectives, while supporting executive decision-making through accurate reporting, risk analysis, and schedule optimization.

This is a highly visible client-facing role requiring strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to engage effectively with executive stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and project teams across multiple countries.

Key Responsibilities

Program Development & Strategic Planning

  • Lead the development, maintenance, and governance of integrated master schedules for multiple hospitality and resort development projects.
  • Establish and maintain project baselines utilizing Critical Path Methodology (CPM) and industry best practices.
  • Develop scheduling strategies covering all project phases, including feasibility, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Identify critical path activities, schedule constraints, project risks, and opportunities to optimize project execution.
  • Prepare and present schedule narratives that clearly communicate milestones, sequencing, dependencies, and project delivery strategies to both executive and technical audiences.
  • Support portfolio-level planning initiatives, ensuring consistency and alignment across multiple concurrent projects.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Lead monthly schedule update cycles, ensuring accurate progress measurement and forecasting.
  • Analyze project performance against established baselines and identify schedule variances, trends, and potential delays.
  • Develop executive dashboards, reports, and presentations that provide meaningful insights into project health and delivery status.
  • Produce rolling look-ahead schedules and recovery plans where required.
  • Conduct schedule health assessments and recommend corrective actions to maintain project objectives.

Risk Management & Scenario Analysis

  • Perform schedule risk assessments and delay impact analyses.
  • Lead "what-if" scenario planning to evaluate schedule alternatives and support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with project leadership teams to develop mitigation and recovery strategies for identified risks.
  • Support change management processes by evaluating the schedule implications of scope, budget, or resource changes.

Stakeholder & Contract Management

  • Review and validate consultant and contractor schedules for compliance with contractual requirements and project objectives.
  • Ensure integration of contractor programs into the overall master schedule.
  • Act as the primary planning interface between the client, project management teams, consultants, and contractors.
  • Facilitate planning workshops and schedule review meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Communicate schedule performance, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and executive teams.

Systems & Project Controls Excellence

  • Utilize Primavera P6 and other project controls tools to maintain schedule integrity and reporting consistency.
  • Drive the implementation of planning standards, governance processes, and best practices across the project portfolio.
  • Support the broader project controls function, collaborating closely with cost management, risk management, and project management teams.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives within planning and project controls processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within large-scale construction environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting hospitality, hotel, resort, mixed-use, luxury residential, or tourism-related developments.
  • Experience working on complex international projects and multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, design coordination, procurement planning, and project delivery methodologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience in schedule risk analysis, earned value management, and project controls methodologies.
  • PMP, PMI-SP, AACE, or similar professional certifications are highly desirable.
  • Experience working directly with owners, developers, or client organizations is strongly preferred.
