Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Construction Manager with substantial building and infrastructure sector experience to lead large-scale construction projects from inception through commissioning. The ideal candidate will bring a detail-oriented approach, innovative problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering projects on time and within budget whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Design Phase Services

  • Support development of project requirements and conduct constructability reviews, identifying risks to project cost and schedule
  • Assist in identifying long-lead items and participate in value engineering efforts to optimise project outcomes
  • Review design and construction drawings for compliance with project requirements and sector-specific standards
  • Participate in risk identification and mitigation planning, and develop baseline schedules with regular progress updates
  • Participate in criticality assessments to identify critical design and construction aspects requiring oversight

Construction Phase Services

  • Lead and coordinate the site project team under client direction, providing oversight of the general contractor and key subcontractors
  • Attend construction status meetings and coordinate with owners, architects, and contractors to address project-specific issues
  • Review construction progress and schedule alignment with actual field production, coordinating with cost and scheduling representatives for reporting
  • Support observation, issue tracking, and punch-list coordination with architects and engineers
  • Oversee in-process and final inspections, testing activities, and ensure project documentation is properly maintained

Stakeholder Coordination & Management

  • Liaise effectively with external vendors, architects, engineers, suppliers, and general contractors
  • Interface with local authorities on site development, utility tie-ins, and permitting issues
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all project team members, fostering collaboration across disciplines
  • Communicate project status, risks, and solutions with clarity and professionalism to all stakeholders

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, standards, and infrastructure-specific regulations
  • Demonstrate strong working knowledge of safety in design and health and safety regulations for construction sites
  • Review product data submittals and requests for information in coordination with technical reviewers
  • Maintain SOX control responsibilities where applicable

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Minimum 20 years of comprehensive project management and on-site delivery experience across complex, large-scale projects
  • Minimum 5 years of mandatory experience in the GCC region, including Qatar or similar international markets
  • Proven track record managing large-scale, ground-up projects from inception through completion
  • Strong background in budget management, cost control, and schedule management
  • Demonstrated expertise in feasibility assessments, risk identification, and vendor coordination
  • In-depth knowledge of project delivery methodologies, health and safety regulations, and regulatory compliance requirements specific to GCC jurisdictions

  • Exceptional leadership and team coordination abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with stakeholder-facing capability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with ability to inject value and create innovative solutions
  • Proficient to expert-level experience with Microsoft Office tools (MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Contract management, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities
  • Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, dynamic environments

Required Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • Relevant health and safety certification recognized in the GCC region
