Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver construction projects with a strong focus on hotel and hospitality development. This role is site-based, requiring consistent on-site presence to oversee construction activities, ensure quality execution, and act as the client’s representative throughout the project lifecycle.

The Project Manager will be responsible for providing full lifecycle project management services, including hands-on construction oversight, stakeholder coordination, and strategic advisory from project inception through closeout—ensuring successful delivery aligned with client objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the client representative on-site, leading day-to-day construction oversight and ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Manage hotel/hospitality development projects, incorporating brand standards, operational requirements, and guest-experience considerations into execution.
  • Support the client Project Manager (PM) as required, including oversight of overall construction execution and contractor performance.
  • Provide strategic guidance during project conception, including delivery approaches, phasing, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Advise on and support procurement strategies and resource planning; contribute to contractor and vendor selection processes.
  • Maintain contract and budget ownership for assigned scopes and ensure cost alignment throughout project execution.
  • Develop, implement, and manage the Project Execution Plan (PEP), coordinating with the General Contractor (GC) for compliance and execution.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks, including construction safety (HSE), maintaining and updating the risk register.
  • Review design documents for constructability, compliance with hotel brand standards, and operational efficiency, providing input during early project phases.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, preparing and coordinating daily, weekly, and monthly reports with the construction team.
  • Lead and coordinate RFI and submittal processes, ensuring alignment with budget and schedule alongside the cost control team.
  • Prepare and issue meeting minutes and documentation for site meetings, including Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) sessions.
  • Support implementation of QA/QC, safety, and labor programs, ensuring compliance with project and corporate standards.
  • Define and track project success criteria across schedule, cost, quality, and technical delivery.
  • Own or support the project schedule, ensuring critical milestones and activities are effectively tracked and managed.
  • Lead project kickoff and recurring stakeholder meetings, including architects, engineers, operators, and contractors.
  • Coordinate with project teams on closeout activities, including as-built documentation and handover requirements.
  • Ensure that quality, safety, health, and environmental issues are identified, communicated, and addressed appropriately.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager in construction, with proven on-site project delivery experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in hotel and/or hospitality development projects (highly preferred), including understanding of brand standards and operational requirements.
  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • Strong track record as a Lead Project Manager, delivering complex projects successfully and managing performance metrics.
  • Experience working in a consulting or client-representative role preferred.
  • PMI certification (PMP) is a plus.
  • Experience in commercial projects such as hotels, mixed-use, retail, or large-scale developments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal), with the ability to lead meetings, prepare reports, and deliver presentations.
