Job Description

We are supporting a major defence programme in Adelaide, delivering a complex, long‑term portfolio of work of national significance. The programme requires strong governance, data‑driven decision‑making and clear performance insight to enable successful outcomes. This role sits at the heart of programme governance and reporting.

The Reporting Manager is responsible for delivering high‑quality, timely and consistent performance reporting and insights across a very large, complex programme of work. The role supports governance, strategic decision‑making and proactive performance management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop, maintain and publish monthly dashboards and reports for all sub‑programmes within the reporting system.
  • Operate and continuously improve reporting systems to ensure data is accurate, timely and actionable.
  • Provide clear, insightful and tailored reporting to senior stakeholders, enabling evidence‑based decisions on performance and deliverability.
  • Work across cross functional teams, including with Reporting & Systems teams, embedding best practice in data visualisation, analysis and reporting.
  • Delivers to the reporting calendar whilst also fostering a forward-looking ethos at reporting trends, hotspots to enable preventative intervention
  • Ensure the reporting delivered is fact based, aligning stakeholders to one single source of truth
  • Have the ability to spot problems before they are problems and identify unreported risks and issues – filter through reporting noise to identify important signals

 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will bring a blend of technical reporting expertise, leadership capability and stakeholder influence.

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Business, Finance, Engineering, Commercial, Project Management or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience delivering reporting and insights for large, complex programmes or portfolios.
  • Strong capability in performance measurement frameworks, reporting hierarchies and governance reporting.
  • Advanced data analysis and visualisation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing and engaging senior stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable:

  • APM qualification (or equivalent) and experience across P3M environments.
  • Substantial experience with Power BI or equivalent reporting tools.
  • Experience within defence, utilities, water or other regulated industries.
  • Background in data quality management and continuous improvement initiatives.
