By mid-2026, the headcount for Turner & Townsend in Europe will be 2,500 people and because of the ongoing growth and continuous innovation of our company, we are extending our learning & development team and are recruiting a Learning & Development Lead for the Europe region. The role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the overall learning and development strategy for Turner & Townsend in Europe. This role will be at Associate Director level, reporting into the European HR Operations Director.
This role focuses on creating the framework for change management and training of new systems and processes, aligning learning initiatives with business objectives, enhancing employee skills and performance, and fostering a culture of continuous learning. Key responsibilities include assessing training needs, designing and delivering learning programs, managing budgets, and evaluating the effectiveness of L&D initiatives.
Job Description
The duties of this role include:
- Work closely with the M&A change management professionals and the wider integration team and develop an L&D plan to be added to the tactical integration plan, including technical skill building, vision and values workshops, and leadership bootcamps.
- Deliver training that supports organizational change, mitigating risk and ensuring employee retention.
- Develop and provide training to leaders on how to communicate and demonstrate transparency through the periods of change.
- Assess the current new starter induction, re-design and tailor the content to new priorities, structures and needs, keeping the onboarding process short and focused but pacing the training journey and choosing impact over speed.
- Needs Assessment and Skills Gap Analysis: Conduct audits of the new combined workforce to identify skills gaps and redundancies to align with the new organization’s business goals.
- Understand the training requirements for new systems, policies, processes, service and sector specific skills
- Assess the L&D initiatives and training programs available in all parts of the business incl. its affiliates, map it against the business needs and identify gaps.
- Amend existing, and/or (re-)design and implement new training initiatives to ensure a broad and aligned understanding of the Turner & Townsend way of working across the European business.
- Develop and deliver training initiatives to unite company cultures, communicate new values, and reduce turnover during the transition.
- Explore and implement innovative learning technologies and platforms to enhance the learning experience and improve accessibility.
- Source external partners for the set-up and delivery of new training initiatives – if required.
- Support operational experts from our organization to convert (technical) content into training material.

Qualifications
- Bachelor´s/Master´s degree in Business Psychology, Human Resources Development or similar.
- At least 4-5 years’ experience in an L&D Senior Professional role, international work environment, ideally Building/Real Estate industry with a focus on change management or large-scale corporate training projects
- M&A specific competencies, such as Cultural Due Diligence, Synergy Realization, Stakeholder Management
- Understanding of adult learning principles and best practices in L&D.
- Familiarity with various learning technologies and platforms.
- Expertise in instructional design and adult learning theories
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- The ability to convert (technical) content into training materials.
- Experience with multimedia & LMS tools.
- Service-oriented autonomous work attitude.
- Result oriented, ownership and project-based way of working.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs.
- High emotional intelligence, agility and the ability to manage change in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders; fluent in English.
