Job Description
Turner & Townsend is undergoing one of its most significant and exciting phases in its history. In 2025, we combined our business with CBRE Project Management, creating a world‑leading professional services company of more than 22,000 people. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented Global External Communications Manager to join our Global Marketing and Communications team.
This is a high‑impact role at the heart of a global transformation. You will help shape how Turner & Townsend communicates externally – to build our reputation, drive thought leadership and ensure our voice is consistent and compelling across our key markets.
Working closely with the Associate Director, Global External Communications, you will support the development and delivery of an integrated global external comms programme, spanning our three super-regions: EMEA, Americas and Asia Pacific. You will collaborate daily with regional communications leads, the wider global marketing and internal comms teams, key stakeholders in the business and our global PR agency, to ensure our expertise and insights are promoted in the media.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced communications professional who is confident operating in a complex, international environment and is motivated by the prospect of contributing to a business in growth and transformation.
This role reports to the Associate Director, Global External Communications, and sits within our Communications team, led by Director, Global Corporate Communications and is part of our wider Global Marketing and Communications team, headed by our Global Chief Marketing Officer.
The role is based at our office in the City of London.
Please note that this is a 12-month, fixed-term position.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and execute a strategic global external communications programme across EMEA, Americas and APAC.
- Drive high‑quality media engagement, securing coverage that elevates Turner & Townsend’s profile and reinforces our global reputation.
- Collaborate with regional external comms colleagues to ensure aligned messaging and consistent storytelling.
- Work with our global PR agency to deliver proactive thought leadership, campaigns and reactive opportunities.
- Support global reputation management, including issues and crisis communications.
- Contribute to global marketing initiatives, digital campaigns and major corporate announcements.
- Monitor global media, industry trends and key journalists to identify opportunities for media coverage.
- Develop metrics and reporting frameworks to evaluate the impact of global communications activities to report and demonstrate ROI.
Qualifications
Essential Skills & Experience
- At least five years’ experience in external PR communications (essential), preferably in a global context and B2B.
- Proven relationships with key journalists, demonstrated through PR results.
- Experience managing at least one team member and collaborating with a PR agency to get results.
- Strong communicator with the ability to operate confidently in complex stakeholder environments.
- Experience in professional services, infrastructure or the built environment (preferred but not essential).
