Job Description

  • Project Oversight & Coordination
    • Serve as the primary on-site representative for all mechanical engineering activities.
    • Review and validate mechanical design drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and material submissions.
    • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and client representatives on mechanical work progress and technical matters.
    • Monitor installation works for HVAC, chilled water systems, CRAC/CRAH units, fire suppression systems, mechanical piping, pump systems, and ventilation.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance
    • Ensure all works comply with local codes, regulations, and global data center standards (ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, etc.).
    • Conduct regular inspections and site audits to verify workmanship and materials against specifications.
    • Manage and close out non-conformance reports (NCRs).
  • Testing, Commissioning & Handover
    • Oversee testing and commissioning of mechanical systems, including integrated systems testing (IST).
    • Review commissioning schedules, test procedures, and documentation.
    • Support handover activities, including O&M documentation, as-built drawings, and training sessions.
  • Risk Management & Safety
    • Identify potential risks, clashes, or delays related to mechanical works and propose mitigation measures.
    • Ensure contractors adhere to site safety requirements and best practices.
  • Reporting & Documentation
    • Prepare daily/weekly progress reports, site memos, and technical assessments.
    • Maintain accurate records of site activities, design changes, and decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • 10 years of experience with projects in data center, semiconductor, or mission-critical infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems design, installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Familiar with local building codes (Uniform Building By-Laws, MS standards) and relevant international standards.
  • Experience with chilled water systems, high-density cooling, precision cooling units, fire suppression, and ventilation systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BIM models, and technical specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of commissioning processes and integrated system testing.
