Job Description
As a result of business growth across the USA, Turner & Townsend are inviting experienced Senior level estimating professionals to consider relocating to the US, joining our teams supporting diverse construction projects and programs across the country.
Who are you?
You are an experienced Senior Infrastructure Estimator with a minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience looking for the next step or are currently undertaking a similar role in a similar environment.
- Maintain liaison with client and other consultants at all projects stages.
- Provide leadership to cost management team, when necessary, ensure the delivery on all of accountabilities.
- Develop cost estimates from drawings and specifications.
- Meet and negotiate costs with Contractors.
- Use the appropriate estimating tool (client tools, customized estimating spreadsheets, industry estimating software, benchmarking, etc.).
- Produce monthly post contract cost reports and present to client.
- Provide input into value engineering; negotiate and approve final accounts.
- Identify improvements for cost management procedures, templates, and products, and refer ideas to appropriate line manager.
- Perform all aspects of estimating, analysis and verification of contractor costs.
- Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on larger projects, and ensure timely and accurate cost checking, and valuation process.
- Provide input into value engineering; negotiate and approve final costs.
- Develop life cycle, maintenance, and operating costs.
- Assist in the development of historical pricing database.
- Assist in the development of cost estimating guidelines for various programs.
- Be a Team Player – support the junior estimators and team, be flexible and maintain a positive attitude.
Qualifications
- Must have experience working in the infrastructure construction industry (Rail, Light Rail, Bus, Transportation Civil Construction).
- Computer based estimating software experience, e.g. on screen take off, Revit, Blue Beam
- Good knowledge of all methods of construction procurement
- Good knowledge and experience gained within several industry sectors
- Team player - Demonstrate solid presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Suite
- Good organization skills, ability to multi-task, and be a team player.
Education/Experience:
- Infrastructure project experience is a must.
- Technical work experience or college degree in Cost Estimating, Construction Management or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in cost estimating, specifically on the delivery side.
- Hold relevant cost management/estimating credentials, e.g. AACE, ASPE, RICS
- Experience leading estimating teams.
- Must have experience working on multiple project phases. (Not just preconstruction).
- Consultancy experience preferred.
- Experience with civil estimating is essential.
- Strong understanding of all civils, structural and architectural systems.
Additional Information
The salary range for this full-time role is $100K-$185 per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
