Job Description

Turner & Townsend are seeking a Senior Project Controls Consultant to join our team on a large infrastructure project. This individual MUST have experience with Power BI.

We are seeking a candidate to join our team and fill the role of reviewing, assuring, and reporting progress updates for a large-scale infrastructure initiative. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of reporting using Power BI dashboards. You will work closely with project managers, stakeholders, and team members to ensure that project progress is monitored and reported met in a timely manner to support and inform project leadership.

Duties:

  • Report Development & Deployment: Maintain and deploy reports and dashboards using Power BI to provide real-time insights and data-driven decision support for project leadership.
  • Project Monitoring & Assuring: Implement processes to monitor cost, schedule, and risk assurance.
  • Data Management: Collect, Analyze, and interpret project data, ensuring data accuracy and integrity across all reporting platforms.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with the client, delivery partners and other stakeholders to communicate project status, identify issues, and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Schedule Management: Understand and interpret project schedules, monitoring schedule updates against baseline expectations.
  • Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and provide forecasts to provide visibility for cost control and accountability.
  • Risk Management: Work with stakeholders, monitor potential risks and issues, and report through Power BI dashboards to project leadership as needed.
  • Sustainability: Collect data, model and report metrics and project status images relevant to each project. 

Project Scope

The main roles within the project delivery for the role includes:

  • Collect cost, schedule, risk, and sustainability data from various stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update Power BI dashboards on a regular basis as required for assurance purposes.
  • Coordinate and regularly communicate efforts with other team members.
  • Maintain good working relationship with key client stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record with project controls on large projects of $1 billion or larger.
  • Experience in large infrastructure projects.
  • Proven and demonstrated experience in reporting schedule information for a major capital project.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and reporting construction costs and risks.
  • Knowledge of web-based project management systems.
  • Proficiency with Power BI, including ability to create advance reports and dashboards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
  • Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communications.
  • Understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment with clients and delivery partners.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in construction related disciplines.
  • 10+ years demonstrated experience in management of complex, multi-phase, capital projects or programs.
  • PMP or similar certification is a plus.
