Job Description

 

Turner & Townsend are currently seeking a driven, focused and qualified individual to lead the delivery of major retail programs for our clients. The position is a Nashville Office-based role that is dedicated to delivering work across the USA. 

You will be the face of Turner & Townsend to our clients, with responsibility for the financial health and the achievement of high client satisfaction scores for the commissions you lead. The program will encompass a high volume of concurrent projects and you will be required to monitor and report on the status of each. You will likely manage a dispersed team who will monitor active projects and provide schedule forecasts. You may be expected to work with our cost management team to provide support for procurement or post contract cost management. You must be able to help the client develop and manage design standards while balancing with advice on value engineering and whole life costing as needed.

The Program Manager’s role is to drive improvement in the overall performance of our client’s program. This will require proactive communication and fiscal and resource planning to ensure our client’s is reaching their KPIs.

You will be required to be in the office in the Cool Springs area of Franklin, TN up to 5 days a week during regular business hours. Some travel (up to 50%) may be required to meet client stakeholders and conduct site visits.

Specifics activities include:

 

  • Assist with fiscal planning and reporting, including management of Program forecasts.
  • Manage dispersed teams, including Tuner & Townsend personnel, client stakeholders, GC’s, architects, engineers and suppliers to deliver brand compliant projects.
  • Develop and/or utilize proprietary or off the shelf products to track data (schedule, cost, other key metrics) from a high volume of concurrent projects. Provide executive summaries, dashboards and analysis to clients on the current and forecast status of the projects and the program.
  • Develop, implement and monitor effective project governance, processes and systems, holding yourself and our team to account for accuracy and consistency.
  • Support the development and management of design standards.
    • Managing your teams to ensure that facilities are designed and built to those standards
    • Anticipating and managing the risk of non-compliance
    • Conducting final brand audits to verify that standards were met
  • Manage the interface between all suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviews.
  • Manage the flow of project information between the project team through regular meetings and written communications.
  • Provide technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders.
  • Provide rapid response to RFIs from the field and assist in the management, review and approval of variance requests.
  • Provide expertise for cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance where required.
  • Develop and deepen working relationships with Clients, with a view towards identifying new opportunities and value add.
  • Provide advice to project teams on approaches that can be adopted to successfully achieve both clients’ objectives and business objectives.
  • Ensure that key information and learnings generated from each project is captured. Ensure application of best practice on all projects.
  • Constantly identify ways to improve internal systems and processes.

Qualifications

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction related field. 
  • A minimum 5 years of experience and applied knowledge in Program Management.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the construction industry, including Planning, Design, Cost Management, Project Management, Contracts, Scheduling, and Risk Management.
  • A minimum 8 years of experience and applied knowledge in the Retail, Corporate Occupier or Automotive sectors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to utilize all the common Microsoft Suite of applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) to make persuasive cases to support strategic objectives.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural, MEP, and structural building drawings.
  • Understanding of construction costs related to industry standards.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and implement strategic plans and translate data into a visual format that is easily understood by a variety of stakeholders.
  • The ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work at client sites independent from other team members.  
  • Experience using Bluebeam / Adobe Professional.
