Job Description
We are currently looking for an experienced Contract & Procurement Manager to join our Natural Resources business in the Netherlands, working on an exciting project we have today in Lisbon with a large international client active in battery grade lithium production. This role has a planned end date of December 2024 whereafter you would be permanently based in the Netherlands. A fly-in fly-out basis arrangement is possible for the duration of the project.
With strong experience in a consultancy or contractor organisation, you will have knowledge and demonstrate hands on experience of standard forms of contract, claims management, dispute avoidance and/or dispute resolution within the natural resources, energy and/or infrastructure environment sectors.
The Contract & Procurement Manager will represent the Client’s commercial interests while overseeing procurement activities by third party partner organizations.
Responsibilities (non-exhaustive list):
- Contract management: supplier follow-up, contract close-out and ensure contract compliance.
- Ensure that business goals are accomplished by contract implementation.
- Provide regular reporting on the status of contracts for management.
- Stakeholder management – the ability to create and maintain strong relationships with your different client interfaces.
- Prepare or review requests for proposals for distribution to vendors.
- Coordinate with Project Controls and the finance department to ensure correct billing and accounts payable. Verify receipt of goods and services and help verify quality performance by vendors.
- Identify potential improvements to contracting and procurement strategies, policies, bidding, and vendor selection to achieve the best value for the Client.
- Be an active member of the procurement organization and contract team.
Leading a team of 2 to 5, setting out clear objectives and deliverables.
Qualifications
- 10 + years relevant experience in a similar role in the Natural Resources sector.
- Commercial project experience highly preferred
- Experience in managing a team and ability to set priorities.
- Formal Project Management methods
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Ability to present to senior management to gain approvals.
- Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment.
