Job Description
Main responsbilities:
Cost Manager will be responsible to manage number of commission under MIND proposition. He/ she will also oversight and train other junior resources on Cost Manager will be responsible to implement the T & T way of service delivery and implement best Cost X practice on the various commission.
Key responsibilites:
Primary responsibilities on overseas project
- Set up cost X template for cost plan and prepare BOQ including writing description as per various mode of measurement
- Support commission manager in managing estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan
- Support commission lead in delivering the commission within agreed timelines and desired quality.
- Staff management (where appropriate) – Inputting into the formal management of an Assistant Cost Manager or small cost management team, input into resource management and attendance at junior staff appraisals
- Train junior team members on Costx -2D/3D and develop best practice on costX
Other responsibilities on local project
- Set up cost X template for cost plan and prepare BOQ as per various mode of measurement
- Raise RFI and coordinate with client team/ designers
- Lead procurement process, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, putting the preliminaries together, tender analysis, producing the tender report and compiling the contractual documents
- Dealing effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes, where applicable referring major changes to line manager
- Taking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects and in all cases ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes place
- Prepare monthly post contract cost reports and presenting them to the client
- Generate VE ideas and provide estimates.
- Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
- Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages
- Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan

Qualifications
- Education – B.E in Electrical/ Mechanical engineering
- Preferably Cost X Exp. Experience on SSM7, SSM6, POMI, NRM is preferred.
- Experience in delivering projects in Middle east, Australia, USA, Europe, Singapore, Canada
