Job Description
Mentor and support staff and project teams in model and content creation, ensuring correct data and data structure
Advise project managers / project teams with regard to BIM data / data structure best practices
Support the development of company BIM standards, and update as necessary
Manage software versions of BIM applications
Lead R&D in identifying and implementing areas of new technology and process
Provide support to the tender bidding teams in order to win future projects
Provide support to tender bidding teams by responding to BIM specific PQQ’s
Continuing development of in-house BIM capabilities within Turner & Townsend's BIM Centre for Excellence team
Regular meetings with the BIM Centre for Excellence team to share knowledge, recent experiences, ideas and mitigate risks so as to best serve the wider business and future projects
Live Projects / Project Support
Understanding of design, BIM and procurement, and its application in planning and construction management
Help to manage project specific design content, and management of design and construction tasks
Proven systematic approach to problem solving and model development protocols
Develop and implement Employer’s Information Requirement documents, defining the client and project requirements
Oversee BIM deployment in the context of the project programme
Design, develop and implement BIM Execution Plans, defining the client and project requirements
Provide a BIM management lead role for a project or series of projects
Create clash detection coordination schedules, and distribute clash detection reports
Create and Distribute key action reports
Ensures BIM standards are being followed by project stakeholders
Review multi discipline clash detection reports and lead clash detection meetings
Advise project stakeholders on data exchange methods, and create model exchange schedules
Liaise directly with project stakeholders
Oversee administration of project BIM coordination process
Promote increased collaboration between project stakeholders
Live Projects / Project Contribution Requirements, 2 or more of the following;
Advanced user of 3D design authoring tools - Revit, Bentley, ArchiCAD, Digital Projects
Proficient user of 4D Construction Simulation and Visualisation. - Syncro, Naviswork
Familiar with design assurance software - Solibri
Live Projects / Project Contribution Minimum Requirements
Advise Turner & Townsend’s project managers and project teams with regard to BIM best practices
Interface with Design Team and Information managers to ensure information coordination
Support Turner & Townsend’s project managers in BIM Execution Plan implementation and best practices
Have an understanding of BIM Competency Assessments of supply chains
Understand and navigate through Building Information Models (visual and detailed interrogation)
Qualifications
Essential Skills & Experience
Working knowledge of international BIM Standards and guidelines
Proven experience in multidisciplinary working practices and interdependencies
Enthusiastic and positive team player - Giving the project team confidence in the use of BIM
Up to date knowledge of BIM technology and interoperability standards / good all round technical knowledge and enthusiasm
Proven experience in client facing skills
Good spoken and written English
Understanding of design, BIM and procurement and its application in planning and construction management
Excellent Communicator – ability to provide clear guidance to the whole project team, in order to coordinate a successful outcome
Experience in writing clear, concise requirements and documentation.
Ability to demonstrate experience & knowledge of BIM authoring tools
Software experience: one or more of the following;
Autodesk Revit
Autodesk Navisworks
Solibri
Bentley AECOsim
Bentley navigator
ArchiCAD
Tekla
