Job Description

Turner & Townsend are looking for  IT PMO  to join our award winning, for Mumbai cost centre, working within Turner & Townsend's Pune Team.

Role within the project:

  • To lead IT Infrastructure Programme Management Commissions, taking responsibility for end to end service delivery for IT infrastructure.
  • To provide support on major IT Programme and Commercial Management Commissions, taking responsibility for an aspect of service delivery.
  • To ensure that client objectives are met and that projects and campuses are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards.

 Scope

IT Programme Managers handle commissions of varying sizes, depending upon the complexity of the project, etc. Budget for one of our clients typical range is varied from small projects of INR 5Cr to large projects of INR 300cr. To manage all IT stakeholders and design and coordinating with construction colleagues to embed in seamlessly. From data centre, passive cabling, active networks, desktop, end user kits and AV, an IT Project manager needs to manage all stakeholders and collate the programme while coordinating seamlessly with construction colleagues to meet the desired result with quality and in budget for our clients. Develop suitable reports and dashboards and manage the transactional project/commercial managers to deliver the required client’s scope. Work cohesively with key clienteles’ ensuring expectations from Turner and Townsend are managed and key performance indicators with respect to co-ordination, project and commercial tracking are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Helping to establish the overall success criteria for the programme, including all projects, time, cost, technical and performance parameters
  • Identifying and ensuring that the appropriate stakeholders are aware of quality, safety, health and environment issues
  • Establishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout project
  • Project planning, including producing the detailed project plan
  • Advising upon the procurement of resources
  • Leading and facilitating the overall cross-functional project teams
  • Monitoring and applying performance management techniques
  • Managing the change control process
  • Monitoring and advising upon project finances
  •  Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications
  • Preparing formal project progress and other reports
  • Taking a leading role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages
  • Understanding the IT design philosophy of financial institutions
  • Have a working understanding of SEZ/STPI and its impact on IT procurement and process of access and installation in a SEZ/STPI environment
  •  Capable of schedule management of IT and IT related installations including AV.

Internal management accountabilities, to include:

  • Knowledge management – Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each project is input into the Turner & Townsend internal database
  • Process improvement – Identifying ways in which internal systems and processes can be improved and referring ideas to the appropriate line manager

Reporting

  • Depending upon context, a PMO Lead  is likely to report to a Senior Project Manager or Associate Director.

Qualifications

  • Education - B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch – IT/Comp/E&TC preferred
  • Post Graduate Qualification in relevant field would be an added advantage
  • You should have relevant experience of working for a IT consultancy in India, be degree educated in a relevant construction subject and have good technical skills
  • We want applicants with delivery of projects over 500k sq ft in banking and / or commercial sector, clearly banking is most desirable.
  • Applicant with experience of delivering a campus for a multinational company – clearly those with experience working with English or American Financial Services company would be preferable from a senior client engagement point of view.
  • 10+ years experience in similar role
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
