Job Description

Main responsibilities

  • Leads a team of producers working on a variety of podcasts, to ensure projects are delivered on-time and on-budget
  • Works with a network of production freelancers to source, bid, and execute contracts related to podcast production
  • Works within TorStar to build and execute podcast treatments
  • Works within TorStar to communicate new podcast ideas to the Sales and Marketing teams
  • Generate new podcast ideas, as well as storytelling advice and counsel
  • Provide strategic counsel to the building of a TorStar podcast network
  • Responsible for coordination of pitches, products, and decision making related to new opportunities and to ensure that the various parties involved in the creation of a podcast are properly informed
  • Reports directly to the VP, Strategic Operations at TorStar

Qualifications

  • Very strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Expert level knowledge of podcast process and pricing
  • Expert level understanding of Torstar O/O, as well as central coordination
  • In-depth knowledge of podcast industry, companies, market, and competitors 
  • Strategic marketing experience
  • Strong creative skills, including writing, producing, and formatting
  • Experience in Go-To-Market strategies and Sales proposals
