Job Description

We’re looking for a hands-on People leader who thrives in growth environments. Someone who loves building, creating structure, solving problems, and driving results. A leader who brings energy, pragmatism, and a get-things-done mindset. 

As Head of People & Organisation UK, you will partner closely with the UK Managing Director and leadership team to drive our people strategy while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations. You will be a key architect of our culture, helping create an environment where people, teams, and the business can thrive.

In this role you will: 

  • Play a key role in shaping the people, culture, and organisation as the business continues to grow.
  • Partner closely with leaders to navigate change, strengthen teams, and drive business performance.
  • Build the foundations, processes, and practices needed to support sustainable growth.
  • Balance strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, helping turn plans into action

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the UK Managing Director and leadership team to support business growth, organisational effectiveness, and workforce planning.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve scalable people processes, policies, and ways of working that support a growing business.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and coach to leaders on people, culture, performance, organisational development, and employment matters.
  • Lead the full employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee engagement, development, and retention.
  • Champion a high-performing, values-led culture that enables people and teams to thrive while driving business success.
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation while taking a pragmatic, hands-on approach across both strategic and operational people activities.

Qualifications

What we are Looking For 

We’re seeking someone who thrives in environments where there’s an opportunity to build, shape, and make a lasting impact. Having ideally worked in a start-up, scale-up, or greenfield setting, you understand the realities of growth and enjoy creating the structures, processes, and culture that help an organisation succeed as it evolves.

You will likely bring: 

  • Experience building people processes, systems, and ways of working from the ground up. 
  • Strong HR leadership experience across the employee lifecycle. 
  • A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to get involved wherever needed. 
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery. 
  • Experience coaching and influencing senior leaders. 
  • The energy, resilience, and adaptability to succeed in a fast-moving business. 

Key Requirements 

  • Proven HR/P&O leadership experience within a growth, start-up, scale-up, or rapidly evolving business environment. 
  • Strong HR generalist expertise across the full employee lifecycle. 
  • Experience building processes, systems, and organisational capability from the ground up. 
  • Ability to operate strategically while remaining highly hands-on and execution-focused. 
  • Strong coaching, influencing, and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity, change, and competing priorities. 
  • Passion for creating high-performing cultures and developing engaged teams.
