We are currently seeking for a Field Service Engineer Mining based in the Sao Paulo region responsible for commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our systems at customer sites. The role involves extensive travel across South America (150–180 days/year), supporting equipment performance, providing remote assistance, and ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Job Description

  • Responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of sensor-based sorters in TOMRA’s install base
  • Responsible for customer communication and support, including phone, remote and emergency support to ensure that all aspects of the role result in a satisfied customer experience
  • Customer assistance to identify service and spare parts needs • Customer inquiry & tasks management • Training of customer maintenance and service personnel
  • Detailed reporting on a regular basis • Identify opportunities for potential upgrades and sales including liaising with TOMRA’s Project Management and Sales team.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement by providing feedback and suggestions on quality, efficiency and profitability
  • Act positively and in a customer-oriented way
  • Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships is critical to success in this role

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification)
  • >3 years proven experience in field service, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex technical equipment
  • Strong hands-on skills with mechanical, electrical, and software systems
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently and efficiently
  • Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Brazil and occasionally internationally (approx. 150–180 days per year) 
  • Fluency in Portuguese and very good English skills and basic Spanish skills
  • Experience with installation, commissioning, and on-site customer training
  • Comfortable using digital tools, service reporting systems, and remote diagnostics
