Job Description
The Service Technician will be responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining, configuring, and cleaning TOMRA’s reverse vending machine technology. A deep understanding and technical knowledge are needed to successfully analyze, test, troubleshoot, repair/replace, and rebuild all mechanical, electrical and software/database modules.
The Service Technician is a front-line representative of TOMRA to our customers, so outstanding customer service is essential. This position will be required to interface with our customers, (retails, business customers, distributors and partners, or any other) daily at sites throughout Serbia.
Service Technician position is mostly field based, primarily working at customer sites throughout Serbia, occasionally in our offices and warehouse. The job might require some regional and international travels and support to other TOMRA companies. Whilst you will be working in the TOMRA office and warehouse for administration, to collect spare parts, and to handle incoming outgoing logistics to the warehouse, you will mainly be on the road working in a customer premises, and overnight travel will be required on occasion.
Specific responsibilities:
- Installation, set up, service, repair, modify, upgrade, commission, recondition, calibrate, and test of our systems.
- Installation and setup of software on PC and RVMs (Reverse Vending Machines), setting up a database, creating reports and configuring Digital tools and solutions.
- Corrective Servicing: Analysing, diagnosing and rectifying equipment issues to minimize downtime of RVM installations.
- Preventative Servicing: Service and maintain installed equipment including scheduled maintenance visits.
- Fault finding and maintenance of electronic, electrical, optical, and mechanical systems.
- Reporting on service assignments and faults (online and/or paper)
- Training customers and new colleagues
- Driving for long periods as required for the above; attending to some occasional call-outs outside your area; attending to call-outs outside business hours as and when required.
- Providing excellent customer service to our customers retail outlets and occasionally to members of the public if required.
- Monitor RVMs using TOMRA software solutions
- Work closely with the Technical Product Managers
- Document work and machine status
- Warehouse support: Coordinating the preparation, loading, unloading and handling of goods for transport. Safe handling and manipulation of goods using appropriate equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Maintaining records of goods received, dispatched, and stock levels, with regular inventory tracking.
- Manage and control tools, test equipment, technical documentation and other assigned equipment
- Ensure that your equipment, spares and van kit is always complete according to inventory list
- Ensure you take reasonable care for your own health and safety
- Ensure you take reasonable care that your actions or inactions do not adversely affect the health and safety of others
- Ensure all incidents and hazards at work are reported accurately and in a timely manner
- Any other tasks in support of the business as required
- Handover of the installed systems to customers
- Train customers on safe use of the installed systems
- Analyse areas of potential improvement of products and report to local service team.
Qualifications
This role will focus on conveyors, sensors, motors, mobile comms and other equipment.
To be a successful Field Service Technician you will have:
- Comparable experience on electrical/ mechanical equipment
- Previous experience interacting face to face with customers
- Very strong diagnostic and analytical capabilities, especially in relation to mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment
- Experience in troubleshooting electronic equipment and be able to replace circuit boards, sensors and other electronic components
