Job Description

At TOMRA Food we are committed to our brand and as we continue to invest globally, we are looking for a passionate and driven Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. Your work will be purposeful, and you will play an important part in helping the business achieve some exciting goals. You'll primarily be responsible for data entry and documentation for mechanical Bill of material (BOMs). You'll also be a key link between our Design and Production teams. Other responsibilities are as follows:

  • Working with existing AutoCAD designs to produce 3D models, assembly and manufacture drawings for our custom machines
  • Providing production documentation and customised work assembly instructions for our assembly teams
  • Supporting our customer projects team with a mix of configuration and customisation to new and existing mechanical designs and products
  • Assisting teams to find how we can improve the ways we engineer and deliver our products and solutions
  • You will be required to hit the ground running and learn our products and systems on the go
  • This is not a product development role; our team works alongside the customer projects teams to provide customers with unique solutions utilizing both our product portfolio and Engineered to Order (ETO) components.

**Please note this role is based on 18 months fixed term contract

Qualifications

About you: 

You’re the kind of person who is solutions focused, inquisitive and enjoys being part of a tight-knit team who like to work hard and play hard. You will also have:

  • Previous background from mechanical environment (mechanical design engineers, mechanical production engineers)
  • You'll have a practical understanding of mechanical assembly and maintenance of machinery.
  • You’ll have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Solidworks and/or have equivalent knowledge of both 2D and 3D modelling systems.
  • You describe yourself to be methodical with strong attention to detail and you’ll be proud to handover your completed work knowing nothing has been missed.
