As our Legal Counsel, we are looking for someone to:

  • Provide expert, commercially focused employment law advice across a broad range of matters including employee relations, performance and absence management, disciplinary and grievance issues, redundancies, restructures, whistleblowing, EDI, flexible working, family leave, and senior-level appointments and exits
  • Manage employment disputes and tribunal claims, working with external counsel where required, developing litigation strategies, and supporting legal documentation and witness preparation
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and regulatory requirements by monitoring legal developments and advising on policy and procedural updates
  • Support strategic business initiatives including organisational change, restructures, acquisitions and workforce planning, partnering closely with HR and business leaders
  • Deliver practical employment law training, build trusted relationships with stakeholders across the business, and promote proactive risk management and informed decision-making

Qualifications

Essential

  • Significant post-qualification experience in employment law gained in private practice and/or an in-house environment
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and tribunal procedures
  • Experience advising senior stakeholders on complex employee relations matters
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to deliver clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice
  • Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills

  • Experience supporting organisational change and restructuring projects
  • Exposure to reward, executive compensation and governance matters
