We take the time to understand our customers and our door is always open, so we can often help when other lenders can’t or won’t. Based in Cheadle, Cheshire, our 750 colleagues help our customers throughout the UK, backed by the power of a £7 billion loan book.

Job Description

As an Associate - Debt Capital Markets you will be part of the team responsible for raising and maintaining capital to fund Together's mortgage loan book. As a non-bank lender, Together's loan book is not funded with bank deposits, but by a wide range of financial instruments including High Yield Bonds, Revolving Credit Facilities and Securitisations.

As an Associate - Debt Capital Markets we are looking for someone to:

  • Support the DCM Directors in raising and refinancing both existing and new funding vehicles, particularly in data production and validation, as well as deal admin
  • Take responsibility for production/oversight of Bank of England data tapes, performance data and informational materials for meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work as part of a dynamic team, juggling multiple priorities and being on hand to help deliver time sensitive tasks and projects for the benefit of the wider team and business. Deadlines are usually business critical, and non-negotiable, meaning workload can vary dramatically
  • Input into, and assist in the review of, the suite of legal documentation that underpin the funding vehicles, working closely with internal and external lawyers
  • Ensure operational aspects of financing activities are understood by the relevant teams within Treasury and the wider business, assisting with implementation and oversight where needed
  • Build long-term, trusted relationships with a network of colleagues and external partners
  • Develop knowledge and expertise in complex areas of finance and Capital Markets, through on the job learning as well as formal external qualifications as appropriate
  • Prepare materials and agendas for meetings with internal stakeholders, external investors, rating agencies, investment banks etc.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Experience in a mortgage market setting is preferred but other securitisation experience would be considered
  • Qualified/Part Qualified in a professional qualification is preferred but not essential. A variety of professional qualifications can be considered and supported as the role progresses
  • A can-do attitude, inquisitive mind, and strong work ethic are essential traits
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple competing priorities, which can sometime change at short notice
  • A keen eye for detail, and the ability to spot and head off problems early
  • A desire to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, often at a more senior level, to influence outcomes
  • The ability to explain complex concepts simply and to non-subject matter experts
  • Enjoy being in the detail, but can also step back to see the big picture and ask, “so what?”

If you feel you have some of the skills mentioned above, but not all, please do still apply and we would be happy to have a further discussion with you in regards to your suitability for the role.
