Are you about to complete your master’s degree and looking for an opportunity to combine meaningful work experience with your thesis or have you just completed your master’s degree? Join Tieto's Sourcing team as a Sourcing Analyst on a 12-month fixed-term contract, where you'll work on real business challenges while completing your master’s thesis.
You'll become part of our sourcing team, supporting decision-making and transformation to a world class sourcing team through data, analytics, and AI. Alongside your day-to-day responsibilities as a Sourcing Analyst, you'll complete a master’s thesis focused on sourcing and AI-enabled sourcing and purchasing.
This is a unique opportunity to work with real enterprise spend data, modern analytics platforms, and cutting-edge AI technologies—including GEP SMART, Power BI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Agentic AI—while contributing to one of the largest enterprise sourcing and purchasing transformations in the Nordics.
Your role
As a Sourcing Analyst, you will be an active member of Tieto's Sourcing organization. During your 12-month assignment, you'll divide your time between supporting sourcing analytics initiatives and completing your master’s thesis.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working with real enterprise sourcing and purchasing data to identify business insights and opportunities
- Collaborating with sourcing managers, procurement professionals, Finance, and Data & AI experts
- Developing spend analytics dashboards and interactive reports using Power BI
- Supporting the deployment and continuous improvement of GEP Quantum, our AI-native Source-to-Pay platform
- Exploring how LLMs and Agentic AI can improve procurement analytics, reporting, and decision support
- Contributing to the development of next-generation sourcing analytics capabilities
As part of the role, you'll complete a master’s thesis on a topic agreed together with the team. The thesis will address a real business challenge, allowing your research to create tangible value for Tieto while meeting your university's academic requirements.

Qualifications
- Be currently pursuing (or about to complete) a Master's degree in Systems Analysis and Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, or another relevant field
- Strong foundation in quantitative methods, statistics, optimization, operations research, or mathematical modelling. Ability to formulate business problems analytically and develop data-driven decision support using quantitative and AI-based methods
- Interest in applying optimization, simulation, predictive analytics, or AI techniques to improve procurement and sourcing decisions
- Familiarity with Power BI or another business intelligence and data visualization platform
- Curiosity about Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Agentic AI, and enthusiasm for applying these technologies to real business problems
- Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders
- A proactive, self-driven approach and willingness to learn new technologies and business domains
