Job Description

The Director, Revenue Accounting will lead the revenue recognition process across the Company, including ASC 606 compliance, maintenance and integration of revenue/billing workstreams, revenue recognition logic within systems, monthly reporting, and process documentation. He/she will review analysis results, maintain customer cohort reporting across multiple revenue streams and businesses, and assist with onboarding of acquisitions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION

  • Act as key point of contact for revenue recognition across the Company’s multiple entities and revenue streams, ensuring compliance with ASC 606
  • Oversee the design and maintenance of logic, workflows, and reporting within multiple billing platforms and systems through partnership with Product and Development teams
  • Strong involvement in contract-to-cash process, including remediation of identified gaps and ongoing maintenance of processes
  • Lead the design, implementation, and migration of a new ERP system from a revenue perspective
  • Direct all revenue projects and support cross functional initiatives that impact Company revenue
  • Supervise team of accountants responsible for revenue, including monthly journal entries, customer cohorts, and reconciliations
  • Responsible for training and development of Revenue Accounting team
  • Support monthly FP&A analytics by providing responses to questions around customer revenue trends and discrepancies
  • Maintain revenue memos and process documentation
  • Integrate acquisitions into billing platforms and revenue workflows
  • Assist in annual financial audit process
  • Position requires an experienced financial and strategic minded individual capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, rapidly growing organization who can partner across organizational and functional boundaries to drive projects to completion

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • SAAS revenue experience preferred
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in a corporate finance/accounting management role
  • Multi-entity billing platform management experience (Stripe or similar system)
  • ERP implementation/migration experience preferred (Workday Financials, NetSuite, or similar system)
  • Desire to operate as a “builder” in designing and implementing systems and processes
  • Well organized with the ability to prioritize and work independently on multiple complex tasks/projects with commitment and willingness to see issues through to resolution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and articulate complex financial analysis in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to apply data in providing solutions and driving strategic business decisions
  • History of working effectively with both executives and peers in a fast-paced, success-driven team environment
