We are currently looking for dynamic, creative leaders to develop and strengthen our supply chain and
logistics activities. With a variety of regulated products and with customers around the world, we intend
to boost order fulfillment performance with efficient supply of materials and products and enhanced
coordination with customers, distributors and internal stakeholders. The Inventory Management
Specialist will provide the insight, organization and analysis to support the production and purchasing
plans that meet our business needs.
The position requires a strong ability to coordinate between vendors and internal stakeholders as well as
a high proficiency with data, detail and cross-functional communication. This role provides an exciting
opportunity to power our business as we launch new products and increase production volume.
Job Description
Responsibilities Include:
Management of Purchase Order Lifecycle
• Creating, approving and placing purchase orders for inventoried and non-inventoried goods.
• Managing open purchase orders to coordinate delivery dates and to optimize deliveries to support the
production schedule.
• Recording confirmations from vendors, maintaining purchase orders in ERP with latest details, and
communicating any updates to the internal team.
• Managing and maintaining vendor information in the ERP system.
• Serving as the day-to-day contact point for order-related questions from vendors.
• Working with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancy issues.
Plant Support
• Working with the production team to ensure non-inventoried and consumable supplies are available for
production use.
• Working with the maintenance team to ensure spare parts and supplies are available for preventative
maintenance and repairs.
• Reporting production results via Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) daily.
• Providing instruction and ad hoc documentation for issue management, including:
o Inspection records for increased QC or equipment monitoring.
o Unique placards for identifying material, locations or equipment.
o Process descriptions for tracking material, staging waste or recording production disruptions.
Inventory Management
• Using the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software platform to reconcile physical activities and
material inventory with electronic records for financial reconciliation. ERP transactions to include:
o Receiving process material delivered for production use.
o Posting production results to record raw material consumption and process output.
o Completing movement and transfer journals to reflect cycle count results and to resolve inventory
discrepancies.
• Ensuring the correct receipt of inventoried materials and consumable supplies.
• Allocating and tracking raw materials to ensure FEFO, environmental compliance, and quality traceability.
• Defining and managing the program for controlling inventory, including labeling, placards and cycle
counts.
Continuous Improvement
• Partnering with Quality, Production and Engineering to identify the root cause of raw material quality
issues and working cross-functionally to propose and implement solutions that uphold quality, delivery
and cost performance.
• Generating and assessing proposals for supply chain improvements including changes in suppliers,
buying patterns, space allocation and inventory management to support business growth.
Qualifications
Job Requirements
• Previous experience in manufacturing, quality control, procurement, logistics, supply chain
management or related fields.
• An interest in becoming a subject matter expert in our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
and our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems while mitigating risks to resources and deadlines.
• Enthusiasm for teamwork at multiple levels and across multiple functions of the organization.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Rigorous attention to detail.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
