The Company is vertically integrated providing supply chain solutions between worldwide markets and the Pacific Islands. NPDL is the largest carrier in its core Pacific Island markets operating eight container ships and servicing 18 Pacific Island nations.

The Fixed - term Accounts Receivable Specialist will ensure Principals’ revenue is attributed to Fiji and the Agency’s revenues are completely and accurately booked. Making Sure Debtors Ledger is maintained accurately and the timely/prompt collection of accounts so that it reflects on the cash flow to meet day to day operational and organizational requirements

Job Description

Major Objectives / Accountabilities:

  • Manage organisations credit policy/credit terms and practices with respective accounts and groups.  
  • Maintaining accounts receivable records to ensure accuracy and aging is up to date
  • Monitoring incoming receipting and ensuring accurate allocation.
  • Sending remittance request daily - confirmation for which payments are not receipted.
  • Data entry regarding debtor accounts (Detention Billing/ credit notes/ refund processing)
  • Finalizing of debtors report weekly and month end.
  • Weekly Customer accounts follow up with updated customer statements.
  • Process intercompany postings as and when received
  • Assist with any Finance tasks as and when required.

Qualifications

Education

  • A Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field

Experience

  • Experience in shipping industry is preferred, showcasing a track record of professional growth and expertise.

Skills

  • Experience in the shipping industry is advantageous, providing valuable context and familiarity with industry-specific processes.
  • Knowledge of CargoWise, Oracle software will be an advantage
  • Ability to develop a robust set of analytical resources, create meaningful reports, and implement methodologies to enhance decision-making support.
  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environment, adapting quickly to evolving challenges and opportunities.
  • Exhibit excellent organizational, analytical, and Excel skills, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial management.
