Job Description
- Responsible for ensuring the food safety, quality and compliance of all products including the application and implementation of all relevant food safety and quality systems, ensuring that the site standards are constantly maintained.
- Develop strategies to ensure smooth functioning of quality and food safety processes, systems and guidelines for all incoming materials, processes as well as finished goods.
- Lead and monitor initiatives to improve quality performance in the plant and during transit to the customer.
- Develop strategies and methodology to ensure all in-process checks and quality control activities are adhered to.
- HACCP Team Leader.
- Manage Quality, Regulatory and Food Safety audits.
- Management of internal audit programs, non-conformances, investigations, and sustainable corrective actions implemented.
- Managing the QA and Supplier compliance function for the site and ensuring a high-performance culture centered on accountability.
- Driving improvements in GMP, food safety, quality, and overall compliance to required standards.
- Assisting with customer complaints investigations and ensuring timely resolution of customer queries and quality audit observations.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the quality awareness and competencies of the team.
- Carrying out Supplier audits and providing feedback to corporate purchasing on Supplier performance.
- Support organizational quality compliance and environmental initiatives across the site.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in a food science or related subject
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior quality management role within the food and beverage industry. Experience in bottling and injection molding would be highly regarded.
- Proven experience managing and effectively leading a team within quality is required.
- Experience managing internal and 3rd party audits. Lead auditor qualifications would be highly regarded.
- Ability to build and develop strong, cooperative relationships with key stakeholders at senior and operational management levels.
- Strong understanding of HACCP and Food Safety.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
- Ability to work with and in different cultures and has proven very strong intercultural skills in the past.
- Ability to work and deliver objectives with minimal supervision.
